Unit 11576

Category: Layer    dug in 2005

Area: TP

Interpretive Categories: bench plaster

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: pedestal/podium/plinth; Material: plaster; Deposition: homogeneous; Basal Spit: unpainted

Dimensions: 1.08 x 0.04 x 0,10

Discussion: This is a plaster on the bench against west wall of space 248. It is slightly thicker on the top than in the bottom. Its total height does not exceed 6 - 10 cm while a total height of bench is 27 cm.
This indicates that only upper part of the bench was plastered.

It is possible that it was plastered at the same time as sealing of bucrania, attached to the bench wall, along with the human skeleton adjacent to the bucrania.
