Unit 11585

Category: Cut    dug in 2005

Area: TP

Interpretive Categories: posthole cut

Data Category Information: Description: posthole

Dimensions: 0,20 x 0,20 x 0,12

Discussion: This is a cut of a posthole situated in northern part of an extension. Its infill was recorded as unit 11584 and both formed feature number 1188. The posthole was discovered within unit 11579 - a layer under the Roman floor (unit 10988). "t 's possible that the feature 1188 was associated with this floor as well as with a depression in its surface - recorded as feature 1187 (infill 10999, cut 10997). The depression might have been caused by slipping down of a fragment of a floor over the posthole.
