Unit 11634
Category: layer dug in 2005
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: platform construction makeup
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Layer reveals mudbricks at platform edge, but layer is extending off under the wall to the north. This is being left at the moment, because it seems to go into another large area. Once removed, has left a clear depression in the platform (see drawing). This layer had levelled the platform off to the 'rubble layer' surface. This rubble layer was clearly the primary platform construction, and the hole left by the grey layer was probably cut post-construction of the platform, by removing some material. There is no hint as to why this was done.
