Unit 11738
Category: Layer dug in 2006
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: mudbrick rubble
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: 1.54 x 1.90 x 0.11
Discussion: This is an arbitrary layer left unexcavated in the previous season. It is placed in the northern part of the trench, between other units of more certain interpretation.
This rubble layer, of wavy irregular shape and surface, was a mixture of fallen pale yellow, oranguish and whitish bricks and very heterogenous infill: greyish silty sand and sand as well as brownish silty clay with many small yellow lenses. Above this unit a large pit of unspecified function was recorded (11719 infill, 10923 cut).
The relations of the described layer with other units are very unclear. Being left from previous season and badly truncated by later cuts (11766, 11741, 10938), the unit must be treated with caution.
This feature was transferred to Space 598 in 2015.
