Unit 11908
Category: Cluster dug in 2005
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Bin fill
Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: bin; Material: archaeobotanical; Deposition: primary deposition; Basal Spit: almonds, grain
Discussion: This unit of bin fill was differentiated from 11906 (above) by an emerging concentration of wheat grains (and some almonds), taken as sample no.1. This concentration was directly below the almond spread in 11906 (S1) but much richer in grain, and therefore important to differentiate. After removal of the wheat grain concentration and some surrounding fill (all taken for for flotation = S2) , the fill of the whole bin appeared more uniformly reddish brown in colour and more compact. Some animal bone and obsidian were also exposed (but not removed). Therefore, the unit was changed.
