Discussion: This is a make-up layer being a fragment of a floor sequency placed between a younger (unit 12299) and older one (12289). It was truncated by a unspecified constructional event and filled up by a fragment of a layer composed of bricks, mortar and plaster (unit 12278) from the S and by a posthole cut (unit 12290) and a hearth cut (unit 12298).
As all the phases of the floor it was sloping eastwards.
