Discussion: Cut would have been made for the placement of a pillar/post. Unit layers 12585, 12587, are inside the cut. So too is 12589, but this subsequent to pillar/post removal. The mortar layer 12588 is on top of and around the cut area. It belongs to the pillar feature event rather than the cut itself.
