Discussion: This is a layer underneath a floor of Building 62, covering the entire surface stretching between western and eastern walls of thet Building. It was composed of two layers although no distinct boundary between them was recognised. The upper layer was composed of brownish silty sand with large amount of charcoal inclusions. The bottom one was similar but it a considerable amount of pale yellow clay lenses, resembelling material used for brick production. Considering the size of the unit's surface, four archive and four flotation samples were collected in order to discern possible differences ın space use. The layer was also very rich with phytoliths inclusions and hence four phytolith samples were taken.
The unit has an irregular shape as it was truncated by later units (11589, 11742) and the Mellaart's trench.
