Discussion: Cut of pit; May relate to (1269) or be a similar feature, I.e. cut at the same time/for the same reason. However it does not appear to have been noticed as a cut from deposits above though. This does not mean it was not cut from higher up. Since the backfill of the pit appear very similar /the same as the surrounding room fill. The lack of clarity of the cut to the west of the step may suggest it barely clipped the floor in this area (see sketch section).
