Interpretive Categories: floor

Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: multiple; Basal Spit: unpainted

Discussion: Series of floors on platform F1663. At least three mid brown silty clay floors. At eastwern edge of the platform, beside wall, floors are better defined and white plaster id visible between floors. In centre and west of platform floors are more worn, plaster does not survive and floors almost impossible to define as missing in places and possibly repaired.
The silty clay floors which survive across the platform are probibly bedding layers for plaster and represent re-plastering of this area.
Floors would have originally stepped down on to lower floor to south but truncated by a cutting back phase. May have originally continued to north on F1651 and 1664 and probibly would have continued west on F1665. Reason for this apperent truncation unclear. Original Total Deposit Volume entered as 10 altered by system check 30/08/09
