Unit 13711
Category: Cut dug in 2006
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: animal disturbance,Pit cut
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Cut for fill 13710. Initially this was thought to be a pit or other disturbance - darker soil within possible cut. However on excavation it has turned out to be a rather amorphous animal burrow probably ground squirrel. It may relate to the fact that there is a soft spot/possible grave in this area since animals frequently take advanatage of softer weak spots. On removal of the various soft loose material we are coming to a much more compact "mudbricky" horizon which may be indicative of chalcolithic deposits.
