Discussion: Fill of grave cut 13739.
Defined seperately as the original grave cuts became clear below disturbance 13730 after removing 13731. The robbers had dug into them and redeposited the human bone - all fragmented here, only one foot was partly articulated in the E end of 13740. So the distinction between 13731 and 13740 is rather arbitrary - defined at the point where the individual graves became visible. It is possible there is mixing of material from 13742 in the bag for 13740 but not the other way round. On excavation it became clear that the entire grave had been cleared - nothing in situ and the bones are all disarticulared throughout the fill and the long bones etc heavily fragmented. Also heavily weathered implying exposure and not backfilled after being disturbed. There might be some of the original grave fill preserved at the E end ofthe cut. Tile fragments and occasional limestones ere also scattered around the fill.
