Discussion: Disturbed? fill of grave F.2404 in the upper part of the body.
After we realised that the upper body of skeleton 13778 was missing, we dug down the disturbed soil under the level of the skeleton. So this unit gives us a date for the robbing pit. 

 

Recognition: slightly softer and more mixed soil where upper body of skeleton was missing 

Definition: clear towards stone lining 13722, unclear towards 13780 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: very hot and no wind under shelter 

Consistency: compact 

Colour: spotty yellow-brown 

Texture: clayey loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: a lot of potsherds 

Post-depositional Features: none 

Basal Boundary: yellow hard surface
