Unit description: Small unit, but with relatively sizable pieces of bone. Mostly sheep-size, but substantial amount large mammal. Some light burning. Sample 6 includes a sheep/goat maxilla and some fragments of large mammal scapula. X1 is a group of bones sticking out of the wall, apparently set deliberately set into it, although they don't seem to make a lot of sense. The only thing unusual in the group is a piece of a wolf (probably) ulna, well-chewed by dogs or other carnivores (i.e., not set in the wall originally as a wolf leg). Aside from a carpal, the rest of this group consists of large mammal long bone and rib shaft fragments. Could these have been set in the wall to provide a base for some feature applied on top of them, since lost? Sample 1 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Large mammal nearly equal in amount to sheep-size. Fairly fragmented, but not all tiny pieces; most 1-4 cm. Some burning. Not very weathered but some pieces look kicked around. No coherence. Looks like fill. Sample 8 is material from the dry sieve, unwashed! A few pieces of mostly large mammal scrap. One burnt at high temperatures. Not very weathered. Looks like small amount of midden.
