Unit description: Small unit with assorted scrap up to ca. 6 cm of taxa of a range of sizes. Samples 4 and 7 are quite similar. Fair amount of burning. Sample 7 has piece of large eggshell (pulled without recording). Weathering variable. Sample 1 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Largish sample of mostly small bits, but also quite a few larger ones. A certain amount of large mammal. Some fish and microfauna. Small fragment of worked bone. A little burning. Weathering quite variable. All body parts represented, but short on long bones and vertebrae. Perhaps a little coherence; some sheep/goat bits could go together. But on the whole seems like mixed origins. Looks like fill, but less reworked than many. Sample 3 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Small sample of small, mostly sheep-size bits. A little low temperature burning, a little digestion. Little weathering, but some seem a little trampled/rolled. No coherence. Looks like floor. Sample 6 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Looks quite different from other samples, mainly because it is all burnt at low temperatures. Smallish sample of mostly sheep-size bits of scrap. Little weathering, quite fresh. Looks like untrampled floor, or what's left of consumption debris after sweeping, that was buried without being trampled, then burnt postdepositionally. Sample 8 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Similar to sample 6. Virtually all burnt, mostly small pieces of scrap, but a few larger pieces. A little digestion, not very weathered. Burning probably postdepositional. Looks like sweepings after daily consumption. Sample 12 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Similar to sample 8, but smaller in amount. Slight difference in size range: nothing large (all under 2 cm), but nothing tiny (under 1 cm) either. Untrampled daily post-consumption discard in small amount? X1 is a fish hook made on boar's tusk. Last number = 124Figurine Records: No GroundStone Records: No Heavy Residue Records: No Microfaunal Records: No
