Unit description: Sample 8 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. All the bone is burnt to a uniform chocolate brown that looks postdepositional; i.e. burnt while buried in sediment. Small scrappy bits, but fairly fresh. Looks more like fill than floor. May be more of this one. It was sorted by mistake because it was mislabeled as 1432, so I went ahead and recorded it. 2003: Found another bag labeled Sample 5, which I think refers to a subdivision of dry sieved (although no other material found) since there is no indication that it is from flotation (and doesn't look like it). It is a small group of mostly scrap, mostly sheep-size. Much but not all of it is burnt to the chocolate brown seen in the flotation; suggests some in situ burning or at least redeposition of such. Fairly fragmented: 1-2 cm. Surface condition variable, looks like fill except for the coherence in burning. Last number = 25Figurine Records: Yes
