Discussion: Cut describes shape created by coffin, so not an intrusive cut, but the negative left as it decayed. Many nails found in units 14259 and 14246 and 14260 also line up along this cut, confirming it as the shape of the coffin 

Recognition: Colour, orange inclusions in fill 

Definition: mostly clear, and can be inferred where not 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: hot, dry, windy 

Shape: Rectangular with rounded corners 

Sides: almost vertical, steep 

Base Break: quick, and even. Slower with more slope in places 

Base: flat, but uneven and bumpy, with holes in it (animal?) 

Orientation: west-east
