Discussion: this layer of original grave fill contained many more finds than the sediment that surrounded the skeleton (coffin fill 14259). It was also a lot softer and more loose, coming down to the same level as the bottom of the grave and revealing the bottom course of the mudbricks. The final iron nails in this unit complete the outline of the coffin. 

Recognition: by loose consistency and lack of orange inclusions
