Interpretive Categories: burial fill 

 

Dimensions: 0,63m EW x 1,48m NS x 0,28m 

 

Discussion: The fill of this burial contained some earlier (Chalcolithic) materials that had fallen into the fill - or when used as fill by the people filling the burial. There was some small pieces of obsidian, animal bone, and larger pieces of brick and pottery. Fill was disturbed by animal burrows, and other unknown processes - probably erosion downslope?

Condition: under shelter, hot 

Consistency: fairly loose soil, on top of mudbrick wall 

Colour: dark brown, gray 

Texture: clayey sand 

Bedding: mostly homogenous 

Inclusions: few obsidian, animal bone, pottery, clay, ochre 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrow in northern section 

Basal Boundary: flatish
