Discussion: Mudbrick taken from wall 96/57 separating spaces 106 and 107. A similar composition of mudbrick was observed for most of the wall, although towards the base the bricks at the North end appeared to contain a higher density of ash and charcoal rich material. In some parts of the wall the mudbricks were extremely long (up to 2m ) thought possibly to suggest that they were made at the site of construction. Their adherence to the mortar layers bonding them, also suggests they may still have been wet when laid.
