Discussion: Shallow lens of charcoal soil cut into make-up in 107. We thought this soil would be deep, (on the basis of the profile) but it turned out to be shallow (6cm thick). Then fill becomes more compact- much less charcoal. (0.5%) and no red clay flecks. Now inclusion of 5% calcium carbonate frags. (2mm). Fill however, breaks away easily from surrounding make-up matrix. Actually there are at least 2% big chunks of charcoal (1cm size). I noticed that at the base of the cut, the fill on the South side was much sandier and more compact. (Munsell 10YR 6/8). Obsidian chips are included in this matrix. At the interface of this matrix and the cut edge, there is a white connection layer -3mm thick- maybe plaster?
