Discussion: basal midden layer overlying cleaner, bricky deposit. It is a little lighter in colour and less rich in charcoal than overlying (1590). (1505) was overlying slightly in NE and the underlying deposit was clearly higher here than to the west. (1595) does not extend all the way to the E wall line wall of 106. A double lens of charcoal (above) and grey ash (below) lay at base of (1595) at W end of deposit.

Unit description: Small unit made up of dry sieve and flotation (sample 9, no #). D.S contained large chunks of cattle include a vertebra, ribs, horncore fragments and a loose tooth. Sheep size material was fairly fragmentary made up of vert fragmentss, long bone shaft fragments and other scrap material. A bone tool was extacted from this unit. There was a small amount of burning present and a few scraps showing signs of gnawing. The surface condition was overrall fairly normal. Flotation- Only 1 identifiable fragment which is an unfused first sheep/goat phalanx. There a a few larger fragments which are sheep size but the majority of the material is unidentifiable scrap size fragments. There was a small amount of burning present in the flot as well.
