Discussion: Etilated (??) oval cut with sloping sides (45deg plus) and a gently concave base. Break of slope at top sharp, at bottom indistinct. Half excavated 26/8/96, remainder 4/9/96.
The function of this cut is unknown, the only explanation to emerge so far is that the midden soil was excavated to be used to manufacture mortar or bricks.
