Unit 16465
Category: Skeleton dug in 2008
Area: North
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Neolithic adult female, older. Disturbed by its close proximity to the surface and by the post neolithic interment of SK (16445).
The neolithic skeleton was interred into the house above space 84 which is now gone. Given the location of (16465) relative to B77 to the north of space 84, it is likely the burial of the skeleton took place in the northern part of the house probably into one of the northern platform.
The grave cut was difficult to discern. The disturbance was significant. The lower limbs and pelvic girdle were more intact than the thorax and upper limbs and shoulder girdle. In situ observation of the hip bones strongly suggest this was a female. No grave goods were found with this individual. The bones of a juvenile were noted. These are from the juvenile (16474) buried immediately below (16465).
