Unit 16698
Category: Skeleton dug in 2008
Area: North
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Neolithic child buried in the NW platformof B49, Sp335. The skeleton occupied the southern part of the pit orientated E-W. The head was missing presumably truncated by the interment of a later burial possibly SK16697. The presence of the cervical vertebrae , including C1 and C2 suggest the body was fully decomposed at the time the head was taken. Phytoliths S3 and S4 from context (17415) were noted in the hip and thorax region.
The grave cut was distinct on its southern edge but it had been truncated on its northern boundary. The position of the neck vertebrae suggest the head was pointing to the north either face down or facing east.
