Unit 16792
Category: Layer dug in 2008
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: infill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Description: Infill within End os Space, Building 55
Discussion: Underexcavated infill at western end of Space 256. Initial deposit appears to be natural silting, possibly wind blown, interbedded with medium sized delaminated wall plaster fragments. This could indicate that the house was left open for a bit after 'closure/abandonment' and prior to infilling.
NB/ in realtion to collaspe (16788) in space 247, are there any other indications that the house was left open for a bit before infilling ie.
House abandoned, wid swept deposits formed at corners, wall collapse. Then house cleared / cleaned out prior to infilling? Might explain why cluster (17733) remained as being trapped under wall collapse?
