Unit 16829

Category: Layer    dug in 2008

Area: Trench 5

Interpretive Categories: Room fill

Data Category Information: none

Discussion: We needed to take out the baulk created by digging out the grave (2416) because there were walls running through and underneath it. We separated it into three units, as there was a plaster line (16808) and a wall (16830) on the southern side. There were a few finds in the fill, mostly bone and pottery (approx 5% for both), and one piece of obsidian.

Recognition: colour, consistency, texture

Definition: Good to south next to plaster, context lost in north

Execution: trowel and small pick

Condition: dry, sunny

Texture: silty sand

Bedding: massive

Inclusions: white flecks, pottery and small fragments of bone (5%). Infrequent charcoal flecks.

Post-depositional Features: none
