Discussion: Unit 16886 is a heavily disturbed and mixed deposit defined by walls F.2413, 2425, 2426 and the East and South edges, another wall on the Norther edge and a grave and trench profile in the Western edge. We dug through 16886 until reaching a hard layer with inclusion of plaster and charcoal and pottery.

Condition: windy, cold 

Consistency: loose to firm 

Colour: light grey to mid grey 

Texture: sand silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: a lot of pottery, some animal bones, obsidian, stones, burnt mudbrick, burnt Byzantine tiles 

Post-depositional Features: root action, animal burrows (heavily disturbed) 

Basal Boundary: clear
