Unit 16956
Category: Layer dug in 2011
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: Burial fill
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: NS: .7 m; EW: 2 m; Depth: .764
Discussion: The small amount of burial fill left of this f. 3343 was just above two Chalcolithic walls (f. 3351 and 3354). It is highly likely that the burial was dug up by a later event, and most likely redeposited in the bell shaped pit f. 3331 where the scattered remains of a male adult have been located. Iron nails were located at bothe the east and west ends of the grave bottom, indicating the existence of a coffin. A few isolated human bones were located in the grave fill at this level.
