Data Category Information: Location: in abandoned building; Deposition: coarsely bedded (dumps)

 

Dimensions: 4.40 x 1.20 x 0.31 

 

Discussion: It was a midden layer. It was arbitrarly distinguished. It is the same as the midden situated above it and recorded as unit 15847. It was homogenous and contained a large number of organic materials, mainly charcoals and animal bones. This layer consisted of ash and brown silty sand. Small mudbricks rubble was discovered in its south part. This midden is certainly younger than infill recorded as 17600 and probably younger than Space 325 of building 74.

Condition: hot, windy 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: grey, black, brown 

Texture: ashy, silty sand
