Dimensions: 1.6m x 0.8m x c.0.1m depth 

Discussion: Levelling deposit, same deposition event as (17902) and (17908) with cluster (17928).

Arbitrarily divided off as excavated as contained by partition brick (17915) but clearly ran under the partition brick (17915) and diffuse merge with (17908). Part of levelling SEE (17902) for further comments.

NB/ X1 was found in an animal hole and therefore could be intrusive. 

Consistency: mod firm 

Colour: mid yellow brown with fragments of grey, off white and brown clays 

Texture: friable, clayey silt (30:70) 

Bedding: massive but mixed 

Inclusions: occ. Bone, smll charcoal fragments, mod grey and brown clay fragments and mortar fragments 

Post-depositional Features: roots and animal runs 

Basal Boundary: diffuse, shares characteristics with underlying deposit but differentialted by way deposit detached from underlying deposit as much as anything else.
