Dimensions: 0.74m length x 0.38m width x 70mm thick 

 

Discussion: Heavily weathered, single crumbly brick with scorched dark brown underside, therefore a reused brick. Forms the core of bench F.1653. Cut to east by post retrieval pit cut (17924) and to west by later modifications such that by end of house sequence it has been shortened to look like a plinth. Seals fill of post retrieval pit (17924). . Appears that dry sieve volume of zero is valid 19/08/09 SAJ 

 

Consistency: loose 

Colour: mid orange brown 

Texture: crumbly and friable 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional small frags clay and basal phytolith adhesion

Basal Boundary: clear, constructional
