Dimensions: height 0.56m by 0.3m length n-s x 0.18m 

Discussion: mudbrick core of upright F4004.

Appears to have been constructed of edged mudbrick set at wall end of bench F.1654 on the eastern side to fall flush with the bench.
Sits on top of the mortar of the bench ((17918) into which it has slightly sunken.

At base a couple of plaster layers traced around the upright indicate that upright constructed and plastered along with the bench then the bench modified by a brick course raise. 

Consistency: solid 

Colour: mid yellow brown 

Texture: fine sand and silt (20:80) 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occ flecks charcoal & mod plant voids 

Post-depositional Features: weathered and animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: clear constructional
