Data Category Information: Description: foundation trench

 

Dimensions: 2.10 E-W x max width 0.40m, x max depth 0.36m 

 

Discussion: Cut to the east by half section; to west by Mellaart. section to south by cut (1614]. Cut located to the south of wall 77, respects the southern wall face to the east but cuts the south face to the west.. It is in turn cut to the south by FT cut [1614], for south wall of space 107 and cut to the east by half section and to the west by Mellaart. section. Function of this cut is unknown, an intermediary activity between level VII and wall 77. On excavation of wall 77 - found that the wall is not actually cut on its south face and that (1807) respects the wall face. this has thrown further confusion onto the function of this event. It does post date wall 77 therefore it could be associated with the construction of north walls to shrine 1. Not enough information to understand or relate this feature.

Sides: sides vertical in centre - irregular but vertical to east and west 

Base Break: basal break sharp 90deg 

Base: flattish with irregular humps & bumps, sloping v gradually from east to west
