Unit 18319
Category: Cluster dug in 2009
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: waste
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: NS 0.3m / EW 0.75m / depth 0.15m
Discussion: Cluster of relatively large pot sherds and animal bons along the N wall (F-2408) of Space 310. Cluster became visible after removing spit of room fill 18303, just as the three other clusters 18320, 18321 and 18323.
After exposing all clusters fully, 18320, 18319 and 18323 were very close to each other. Therefore, none of the clusters seems to represent a separate activity. The soil between the finds was treated as room fill 18318 but finds from the sieve collected as 18319. The soil does not seem to vary from the rest of the room fill.
Some of the sherds seem to belong to the same vessel. Several sherds are sticking nearly vertically in the fill. Some sherds had phytoliths sticking ot their downside - see drawing. Directly under the handle X1 a mandibula X5 appeared, both finds touch each other.
Recognition: pottery concentration
Definition: clear to what was above / not clear towards 18320 and 18323
Execution: trowel, brush, wooden spatula
Condition: hot
