Discussion: Cluster of relatively large potsherds in E of space 310, contains also animal bones and artefacts (stone and bone). Cluster became visible after removing roomfill spit 18303, just as the three other clusters 18320, 18321, 18319.

Some of the sherds are sticking nearly vertically in the roomfill, also animal bones. Several sherds seem to belong to the same vessel.
The soil between the sherds was treated as roomfill (18318) but finds from the sieve collected as 18323. The soil in between the artefacts of the cluster did not seem to be different from the restr of room fill (18318).

After exposing it fully, 18323 was larger than visible on 10.08.09. Only a few centimeters separate it from clusters 18319 and 18320.
The unit numbers were not abandoned, though, because finds had already been sent into the finds lab. 18323 does not, however, seem to represent a distinct activity such as one single dump heep.

Under the half pot x 8 phytoliths and clay became visible and were taken as a sample (s1) - see photo.
The densly clustered sherds in the west part had phytoliths and ash/ charcoal sticking to the sides which were facing down.
Under them , an unfired painted sherd became visible (x 9 ) - see drawing and photos. Significiant sherds and bones were x-finded in order to document their exact position.
Note that s 8 - 11 and s 13 of roomfill 18318 were taken from in between the artefacts of 18323.
