Unit 18370
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: room fill
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: 2012: At the end of the 2012 season, we decided to make a sondage in the central area of the room, to try and find the floor before the end of the season. It's delimited byt the buttresses (F.3365, F.3353, F.3366, F.5062), We are still in the room fill, with a lot of collapsed material, and the chinks [??] are filled by a loose brown sediment. The sondage was started with a big pick, until we found a collapsed wall in the center of the area (18372). Then we decided to expose the collapse around it. We saw wavy and irregular surface, with a lot of different sized mud bricks, mortar plaster and lumps of an unknown clayey material (s4). In the northwestern corner, a piece of red coloured burnt plaster was found. Its shape is a strange as the shape of the big piece of the same material found in the upper layer (18356, s4, same area). For the end of the excavaton we decided to leave the bench of collapsed material around 18372 to protect until the next season. To be continued….
