Dimensions: 0.60m N/S 0.30m E/W 25mm thick 

Discussion: Ash dump (domestic?) part of backfill of room. First deposit in dumping sequence that shows obvious sloping and banding within the overall dump, indicating possibility that discrete dumps may have been missed within the spits removed, this deposit was easily seen because it was very dark.

Consistency: weak 

Colour: 2.5/n black 

Texture: slightly clayey silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: <50% charcoal, < 2% burnt clay
