Unit 19645
Category: Layer dug in 2011

Interpretive Categories: Floor Surface
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: white clay; Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation)
Dimensions: 2.5 m EW x 3.8 m NS
Discussion: Unit is a compact/firm and thick layer of light grey silty clay located in between floor (plaster floor) layers in building 97. Layer is truncated by two cuts to the north containing burials and extends to the S. wall of the building. Unit also extends past the burial truncations to the Nmost Mellaart truncations and to where the N. face of the wall is still intact. The layer contains about 4-6 small, thin micro white plaster floor layers that represent a brief history of surface occupation levels of the bldg. These layers were excavated as part of (19645). The layer also extends to the Eastern platforms of the bldg. and appears to be lapping up against both the eastern and western platform/floor levels. Due to the thickness and fairly homogenous composition of this layer (a few mixing charcoal/ash inclusions) this laeyr could represent a packing event deposited as foundation for floor layers in the bldg. Unit contains a handful of faunal remains and a stone.
