Dimensions: .37 m NS x .37 m EW x .01 meters deep 

 

Discussion: This small, circular hearth represents the sixth hearth found in this central location-- although it is the first underneath platform f. 3529-- all previous hearths were abutting the platform. This is significant since it demonstrates the reuse of the locale for the same purpose even after the construction of a large platform obscuring the place. 

 

Recognition: clear layer underlying occupation layer (19653) 

Definition: clear- round patch of scorched clay and ash 

Execution: trowel and brush 

Condition: cool 

Consistency: loose to friable 

Colour: orange, with dark brown outline 

Texture: ashy silty clay
