Dimensions: .28 m EW x .35 m NS x .03 m deep 

 

Discussion: This layer represents the fill of the north part of bin f. 3538. It was capped by a layer of compact plaster which may represent a collapse of the bin edge when it was taller, or a plastering-over after the truncation of the bin. The fill contained animal bone, including some scapula, as well as shell. 

 

Recognition: apparent layer of plaster and silty clay within concentric plaster outline 

Definition: clear to east, unclear to west 

Execution: trowel, brush 

Condition: cool, windy 

Consistency: friable to firm 

Colour: greyish brown silty clay, white plaster 

Texture: silty clay and plaster 

Bedding: composite 

Inclusions: bone, shell 

Post-depositional Features: burning from hearth (19655) 

Basal Boundary: clear-- plaster base of bin
