Discussion: This fill of post hole cut U.20361is a greyish color in contrast to the surrounding floor. It appared to be surronded in a ring by a light yellowish brown material that at was first was thought to possibly be a plaster and later determined to more likely to be some kind of clay fill around the post (U.20364). The fill itself was highly compact and incredibly hard to excavate requiring extensive scraping. The fill continued in a single layer to the bottom of the cut at which point it hit/ended in a thin layer of plaster. The fill is one of seven in a series of post holes which contained sizeable chunks of charcoal, this fill however, did not contain any such large chunks only small bits towards the bottom half of the fill.
