Unit 20398
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Room infill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Description: Pieces of burnt clay from oven superstructure in SE corner up against the oven on the floor (F.3566).
Discussion: The unit was separated from overlaying u.20396 since we realized we were getting close to the floor level. It has been treated as a separate unit, since material from the floors could come off with it.
Wall plaster came off with the fill.
On top of the platform F.3565 in the SW corner there was a deposit of white, crystallized, substance (salt?). They were not phytolits.
The X-find was found in the lowest part of the layer, close to the hearth/oven F.3566. It COULD be part of the layer below, since it was pressed into it partially.
