Unit 20400
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Burial infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial
Dimensions: 0,84 m NE-SW, 0,30 m NW-SE, 0,15 m deep
Discussion: Grave infill of skeleton 19499. Very similar to other grave infills of Sp. 40.
The pointed bone tools, X1 and X2, seem to have been deliberately deposited in the grave, next to the skull of 19499 and oriented in the same way. There is some uncleartainly about their position, though, as they were first removed by a quick student and then put back.
Note on samples:
Fill of 20400 and 20421 could not be separated during excavation and samples were attributed to this unit no (20400).
All of the burial fill was sent to flotation, but the siol was separated into separate sample nos. Should be regarded as same flotation sample. But, see above.
