Discussion: Isolated adult cranium found in grave fill of primary burial Sk.20683 (F.3697). Found lying on right side, facing east. No mandible or cervical vertebrae found. Anterior (single rooted) teeth missing. Cranium was crushed flat by weight of grave fill which might indicate it was already skeletonized when it was placed in grave cut, or, it is from an early primary burial disturbed by burial F.3697. Lack of mandible makes me (SDH) prefer first interpretation.

Note that a phytolith sample that looked like a knot was taken from where the mandible would have been.
