Unit 21598

Category: Layer    dug in 2014

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: plaster on minishelf in bin

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: bin; Material: plaster; Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: This unit was recognized in 2014 when the feature 7116 was continued (since 2013). It is a plastered elevated area in the sw corner of the feature. It is shelf-like but the plaster also extended along the wall. Perhaps it once covered the sequence of wall in the bin, see sketch.

It was excavated with trowel. Underneath is a make-up layer. Presumably it was the surface of a minishelf in the west subdivision of bin F.7116.
