Unit 21699
Category: Cut dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: foundation cut performed to set the wall base
Data Category Information: Description: foundation trench
Discussion: A role of the cut 21699 ascribed at the stage of the research as the part of the constructional element F.7861 is unclear. However, one may be stated that the execution of long and narrow ditch that truncated eastern wall (F.7149) of Sp.531 and underlying mud-brick structure F.7866 might have been related with preparing the place for setting the base, stable and flat enough for erection the E wall (3095) of B.77. The cut remained as a scar curved within older walls oriented NS which depth differed depending on the sediments placed below.
Shape: long rectangular with irregular sides
Sides: vertical
Base Break: sharp
Base: irregular sloping South
Orientation: NS
