Unit 21703
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: fill in burial (F.7404) cut on platform F.3441
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: Unit 21703 is initially identified under plaster cap U.20094 appearing to abut fill U.20097 to the NE. However excavation revealed that U.20097 was running under u.21703 in the NE corner of the cut. Also u.21703 is definitely a different fill event from U.20097 because it is very different in colour and inclusions. The nature of this unit is very chunky and mixy with large charcoal and plaster inclusions.
Most likely, u.20097 was deposited first as a fill for the juvenile interred in buriaal F.7404, and then u.21703 was deposited as a second fill, maybe over another individual in the some cut, or in order to fill the cut and build up the platform again.
