Discussion: July 2017: During the 2017-exc.season, this layer was probably excavated along with 31418. After 2 years of no excavation at this area, much of this layer was swept or scraped away during general cleaning in preparation for continuation of the excavations there. The hot and humid conditions of the North shelter do not assist the preservation of exposed archaeological contexts/materials which very quickly disentgrate into powdery conditions. In 2017, this "infill layer" was not recognised, but the nature of U31418, which is the number under which the upper most, exposed area of F7638 was excavated, fits very the interpretation of "infill layer".
