Discussion: re-Lining of Oven F.7953: 22654 peeled off of 32375 - the earlier clay linings of the oven. The grey lamination of 22654 can be seen as a levelling/repair layer that was patially though evenly fired and served to seal and level the underlying fragmented clay linings 32375. did the oven need re-insulating? The fired clay lamination then sealed this repair and served as a base for the ultimate plaster lining of the Oven.
